Annapurna Base Camp & Poon Hill Trek Gateway

Annapurna Base Camp & Poon Hill Trek Gateway

Pokhara serves as the gateway for the legendary Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill treks, ideal for short hikes or multi-day Himalayan adventures.

Pokhara is the gateway to some of the most celebrated trekking routes in the world. The Annapurna Conservation Area — accessible within 90 minutes of the city — encompasses a staggering diversity of landscapes, from subtropical river valleys and rhododendron forests to high-alpine meadows and glacier-rimmed basins at 4,130 m.

The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is a classic 7–12 day journey deep into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, culminating at the foot of the 8,091 m summit. For those with less time, Poon Hill (3,210 m) offers one of the most spectacular Himalayan panoramas accessible in a 4-day circuit — a sunrise viewpoint that consistently ranks among the finest in all of Nepal.
