Davis Falls — locally known as Patale Chhango (meaning "underworld waterfall") — is one of Pokhara's most dramatic natural attractions. The Pardi Khola stream plunges through a narrow rocky fissure and disappears underground into a mysterious subterranean gorge, creating a powerful roaring spectacle especially during and after the monsoon season.
Legend holds that the waterfall is named after a Swiss tourist named Davis who was swept away here in 1961. The entrance to the famous Gupteshwor Cave is located directly across the road, making a combined visit ideal.
